Hotly tipped by Max Reinhardt (The Shrine, BBC Late Junction) as a ''wild, hot and about to happen new trio", Ruby and the Vines debuted their unique brand of afro-rock in June 2010 to great acclaim at the Celebrating Sanctuary festival, hosted by BBC London. Supporting Adrian Roye & The Exiles at the Luminaire in July, saw reviewer Andy Snipper (Music-News.com) proclaim, "I found myself smitten... they have a fascinating combination of reggae, Hi-Life and Afrobeat all wrapped up with a very stylish vocal sound from Binisa Bonner. Greg Sanders guitar was sitting right on the edge of tunefulness but perfectly matched Bonner’s jazzy styles. Very well worth keeping an eye open for in the future".
