DJ Semosa, originally hailing from Amstelveen (close to Amsterdam, something that has helped him in developing his own style), started experimenting with his fathers electronic sound devices such as tape recorders (reel to reel) at the age of eleven. He draws his influence from various artists like Angerfist, Aphex Twin, TC, Rusko, Richie Hawtin, Skream and DJ Appelmoes. As he is naturally shy, he does not perform regularly at gigs. Though, he never sits still and always has new releases which could break the charts anytime. His first gig was at party venue JC Elf91 which still remains a critically acclaimed gig. His next project will be one of great proportions. Hockey club Pinoké asked DJ Semosa to compose a new club anthem. Insiders revealed that the clubbing people have something to look forward to, as this 32:35 lenghty piece is definately groundbreaking. He also announced last year in an interview with Wire Magazine that he maybe is planning to start his own recordlabel, stating: "I'm not going to say it's going to happen, I'm not going to say it's not going to happen. All I can say is that it is a great wish for me to have my own label and to do something back for the music industry, like talent scouting." In the same interview he also revealed some tasty information about his upcoming 12". The EP will be released on both Kanzleramt and M_nus: "Yeah, about the EP, I think... In this EP I tried to put as much as my own experiences with life in my songs as possible... The first track is about money problems in example, something which occurs to anyone. I think this EP is reaaaaaally gonna hit the charts...".
