James first got into music at the age of 14. He started playing his father's old guitar but never really got anywhere. Then, he started listening to Muse at 17, and started playing along with songs on Origin Of Symmetry. This got him writing his own stuff as he really identified with the lyrics and loved the over the top style of alot of the songs. As he got more into music he found he could tell notes by ear, and this helped with writing alot more.

Around 2004 James started experimenting with electronic music, but this has always been something of a side project. He also started singing properly in 2004, and has since been in a couple of quite heavy bands, but his true passion lies with experimenting. James is always on the look out for new and interesting influences and my newer songs include alternative time signatures as well as more eastern influences. He has also been catching up with the progressive bands his father introduced to him when he was younger, like Genesis and Pink Floyd, and Tool have been a major influence lately as James finds the rhythm of their material, particularly Lateralus, to be intelligent and moving. Overall, James' influences range greatly, so depending on his mood it could be anything from classical to DnB.
