Founded in 2016 by guitarist/vocalist David "Spud" Robertson (originally from Scotland) as a solo/collaborative studio project, Munt is an Australian extreme metal band from Melbourne, Victoria, specializing in blackened grindcore, blending elements of black metal, death metal, grindcore, hardcore, noise, and occasional sludge influences. Their sound is characterized by relentless aggression, raw brutality, manic energy, complex structures, diverse vocals (gutturals and more), and nihilistic, misanthropic, or philosophically bitter themes.
