A term referring to the original style of deathcore. Similar to its terminological cousin old school death metal (OSDM), old school deathcore is a broad term that can include multiple stylistic deviations of the genre while still maintaining its roots in traditional metalcore. While deathcore received a lot of popularity in the 2000s, the genre can be traced back as far as in the early 1990s. Examples: Goatamentise, Deformity, Day of Suffering, Damaged, Dyingrace.
