'The Art Of Travel' - the title of a book by the author Alain De Botton - is the highly anticipated debut album by Australian band BOBBY VIRTUE. A completely independently created work, written, performed and engineered by Luke Wright, Michael Thorogood and Michael Nouri within the confines of the band's studio located on the NSW Central Coast during the Autumn and Winter months of 2008. This album is the first stage of a journey through the collective cultures that bridge the immensely varied influences of three individuals, who's compositions, after more than a decade of performing and writing together have been enriched with the experiences, ideals and emotions that are reserved only for the most honest expressions, content in allowing life dictate what comes next. Bobby Virtue's music is emulsified by a boundless energy and a deep desire to create timeless work, rare by today's standards and only satisfied by complete self gratification. Although they are heavily influenced by artists who create great works of compositional singularity, it is the inevitable diversity of their compositions which is the driving force of their conviction that no two emotions, among all their complexities, should need to occupy the same expression. Of course there is the common denominator, three passionate and complementary characters united by deeply individual styles which capture, so vividly, each personality with a seasoned musicality, and one begins to understand why this combination could not be arranged any other way.
