Matriark is a Norwegian DJ and producer, member of the Bunkerbauer artist collective and co-runs Malmö/Copenhagen connecting label Megatech Industries. Growing up in Norway to the sound of trance in the 90’s had a significant impact on the artist from the early days. Matriark transformed this passion for trance nostalgia, and quickly built an audience as a DJ and producer since she started in 2019. Her eclectic sets range from hard-trance euphoria, groovy, psychedelic trance, hard hitting techno to contemporary dystopian rave anthems. Matriark is also a rock band formed in 2010 by Malcolm Waters in Stockholm, Sweden. Waters needed a drummer for a gig and called his friend John Thomsen who joined and became a permanent member of the band. The core duo Waters/Thomsen played with different bass players but during the release party of the demo of "Backbone" Malcolm met Felix Bergkrantz who then started playing in the band. Their debut album, "Scum Like Us", was released digitally on the 19th of February 2012.
