In the winter 2007, Sønderknust started playing together in the squatted wagonplace "Brakkebygrenda" in Gamlebyen, Oslo. This freespace was the home and inspiration for two of the bandmembers and many other good people in Oslo and around Europe for 9 years. In may 2008, "Brakkebygrenda" were violently evicted by the police. This ended up in a streetriot and damage on police-equiptment and cars for about 100.000 norwegian krones. These experiences

These experiences, and the fact that we all are living in a fucked up capitalistic society gave the band the motivation, inspiration and anger to make their music. Sønderknust have released one LP and a 7" Split with La Casa Fantom
