Agro Metal

Agro metal is a umbrella term for a bunch of bands that deem playing some sub-genre of heavy metal with a comical approach, taking lyrical inspirations from rustic tales about village life, or the ever-lasting clinch between the urban and the pastoral imagery, usually making less stress on the musicianship and production. The name stems from 'agriculture', and it could also appear as agricultural metal, agrarian metal, poljoprivredni metal etc. The scene started appearing quite spontaneously throughout the region of southeast Europe circa early 2000s, in former Yugoslav countries it appeared partly as a revival of an parody-fusion between metal and turbo folk, promoted by Nervozni poštar and then Pero Defformero, and, more broadly speaking, it was just a bunch of guys playing metal about tractors, plowing, drinking and having sex with snaše in the cornfields.
