Backwood Business was originally started as a side project consisting of Anthony Di Matteo and his friend Nick Olsen after the break-up of their band Chasing Summer which Consisted of the 2 including Lucas Amell and Nick Marchant. The band had several songs such as, "Your Secrets Safe with Me" (which Anthony says was one of his best songs ever lyrically written), "Miss Me", and many more. After Chasing Summer's break up in the Summer of 2008, Olsen and Anthony wanted to keep their music scene alive, but Olsen ended up leaving the solo project and joined a band with his friend Lucas Amell. Leaving Anthony alone in his solo project Dear Diary, which is what it was called at the time. After a year of songwriting and genre changes, Anthony finally decided to start recording electroacoustic music. After 2009 Anthony wanted to make a huge change and started working on a demo. Anthony was writing non-stop but never really liked most of the songs he wrote, but in March of 2010 he wrote his song "We Had the History". Anthony posted the song on his Myspace to see how many plays and how rapidly it would spread. After about a month "We Had the History" had more views than any song he had posted. Anthony's mind was set to do Pop/Electronic music and ever since he has been working on the demo. Anthony wrote a song for his father Raffaele's wedding called "Your Name Goes Here" but Anthony hasn't put that song on his demo for personal reasons. With his demo release coming in the next month he has been preparing very heavily. Anthony hopes to find a serious Hardcore/Metal band and keep Backwood Business his side project. And as for Anthony's friend Nick his band "Write for the Conductor" which consists of Lucas Amell, Tanner Rodgers, Eric Fleischman, and Zack Kaestner has been doing very well and he wished them all luck.
