Empire G is one of New York’s hottest underground hip hop artist. Originally formed in 2005, the band members combined their diverse experience in the music industry, as performers, song writers and producers. A blend of musical influences shaped the unique sound. It doesn’t take long to catch the urban genres mix of hip hop, pop, old school and dance. Their 2007 release of their debut album began as a couple of original songs burned on a CD as demo tracks. That CD was duplicated over and over as it got passed around from one person to another, and quickly made it’s way to the New York underground scene. Requests started getting back from people (known and unknown) wanting more. Studio tracks were recorded for the debut album which generated a large amount of attention, even while in the production stage. Spin-shows quickly picked up on stand-out songs such as “The Sign of Leo” and it wasn’t long before the band found themselves with a hit song. Other songs such as “Mary’s Song” , “Gangsta” and “Japan” have all become fan favorites.
