The Revolutionary Ensemble Was A Free Jazz Trio Consisting Of The Late Violinist Leroy Jenkins 1932-2007 Bass Violinist Sirone Norris Jones 1940-2007 And Percussionist/pianist Jerome Cooper 1946- . The Trio Was Active From 1971-1977 And Reunited In 2004. At The Time Of Their Formation Jenkins Had Been A Member Of The Chicago-Based Association For The Advancement Of Creative Musicians AACM While Sirone Had Performed With Pharoah Sanders Marion Brown Gato Barbieri And Other New Jazz Artists Whereas Cooper Had Most Recently Worked With Rahsaan Roland Kirk.
