Kankan is the stage name for two artists of different genres. As of 2026, the best known artist using the pseudonym is a rapper from Dallas, Texas. Keandrian Qynzel Jones (born September 22, 2000), better known by his stage name Kankan, is an American rapper, producer, and songwriter. Considered to be one of the main pluggnb pioneers, he started off his career being solely a producer; building a name for himself by working with popular artists such as Smokepurpp, Xavier Wulf, Lil Pump, Famous Dex and more. He eventually started releasing his own music in 2018, which is now what he’s most known for. Kankan first started producing when he was a teenager, producing earlier tracks such as ”Trust Issues” by Duwap Kaine and ”Caillou" by Lil Boom. Kankan started to build a name for himself throughout 2016 and 2017 by working with bigger artists, producing popular songs such as ”Fuck a Swisher” by Smokepurpp and Xavier Wulf, and ”Talkin Shit” by Famous Dex and Lil Pump, which both got Lyrical Lemonade music videos. Throughout 2017 and 2018 Kankan started to work with artists Summrs, and, Autumn!, later forming a collective with each other, where Kankan first started rapping. However, in 2019, the three joined the now defunct Slayworld, a collective started by artists Goonie, and Izaya Tiji. This collective is most popularly known for popularizing pluggnb and is widely considered to one of the most influential collectives in underground rap history. In 2021, Kankan blew up from the underground releasing EP's Oxy & Codeine and ##B4RR which are widely considered to be some of his best projects, and song ”Wokeup”, which became popular on TikTok and is Kankan's most popular song, surpassing over 124 million streams on Spotify and 13 million views on YouTube. Shortly after, Kankan released his debut album RR on October 5, 2021, including 14 songs and two features from his ex-friend Yeat, who also blew up in the same year. Following to his summer EP-album ##B4W2G, Kankan released his sophomore debut album WAY2GEEKED on September 30, 2022, including 21 songs and a special guest appearance from LUCKI, The album also peaked at #16 on the Billboard Heetseekers. After three years of silence Kankan surprisingly released an EP-album called B4 F.E.B, which is a warm-up to his next debut album #FUKEVRBDY (wockhardt) Kankan could also refer to a vocalist from Japan also known as KANKAN (缶缶) who primarily posts their song covers and original works on Nico Nico Douga and YouTube. Their most viewed MV is their cover of Venom. They started activities in 2018 and have been gaining popularity ever since. They first started making covers, but have been making original songs in collaboration with many well known figures in the vocaloid scene, such as: Kairiki Bear, Surii, Hiiragi Kirai, and Meddmia.
